Lip Balm was created over 100 years ago with great intentions of helping dry, chapped lips, unfortunately, the inventor, Dr. C.D. Fleet began using Petroleum Jelly. And only recently we have learned how Petroleum Jelly is only a temporary fix for dry lips! Petroleum Jelly just sits on the skin because the skin can not absorb it, and it actually keeps the skin from breathing which doesn't help chapped lips but can make the lips worse for wear.
